Angela works closely with Tim Forester – Morgan of the Dementia Training Company who facilitates learning and development in dementia care for all RCH staff. Angela and Tim co-produce the course content to ensure our staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills to enable our residents with dementia to live well. All courses are mapped to the Skills for Care Qualifications and Credit Framework Dementia Care.

Angela is driven by the desire to change perceptions and prove that moving into a care home when you have a diagnosis of dementia is a good move. ‘The care and stimulation provided in our care settings can provide our residents with an improvement in mood and engagement, nutrition, and hydration, all of which help with the overall wellbeing. Our specially chosen Lifestyle teams are trained and supported to provide all aspects of meaningful, fun, and person-centred engagements for our Dementia residents. These range from reminiscence therapy, pet therapy, sensory Namaste and Monstessori engagements, cognition support, physical exercise, accessing the outdoors, games, entertainers and so much more!’
