What does the day in the life of your role look like?

I’m responsible for building and equipment maintenance at RCH Care Homes, as well as building projects, health & safety implementation and some group level buying.

A typical day involves responding to emergencies and needs from the homes and from the senior management team

This could involve arranging for engineers to tend to the needs of the services, discussions with contractors to undergo various projects with the view of getting quotes for work across our portfolio.

From a health and safety perspective, I liaise with the Care Home Managers to carry out a variety of tasks where we ensure all the right compliances are met and we are a safe place to work for all of the members of our team.

Why do you love working for RCH care homes?

I like the variety of work that I get involved in and that I have a good working relationship with the CEO as well as the support from the other members of the Senior Management Team.

The work I do has a direct impact upon the life of our residents and hopefully I can see as contributing to the improvement of their lives.

What does a perfect day with your family look like?

I live with my cockapoo dog Buddy. During the working week, he is with a dog handler all day but when I get home from work and weekends we spend a lot of quality time together .
