In honour of the upcoming 75th anniversary of VE day and as a surprise for our residents who are missing their families, RCH would like to create a film with your support: anyone can join in – supporters of our homes, families, and members of the community are all at the heart of this campaign.

Following the most recent interview in the Radio Times with Forces sweetheart Dame Vera Lynn, she suggested that her iconic song ‘We’ll Meet Again’ can help communities through the coronavirus pandemic. The Queen also referenced the wartime hit (released in 1939) in her inaugural Covid-19 speech earlier this month.

We’d like you to send in video clips of you/your families singing a single verse from the classic song. We’ll compile them together to form the whole song which we will then surprise our residents with on VE Day.

Select a verse from the sheet you can find here (It’s all numbered so you can pick a single verse to sing)

Here’s the original song

Here’s an instrumental version option for those maestros that know the song!

We’re encouraging family members of residents, as well as supporters to take part. Once the film has been made, we’ll be screening them to our residents across our 10 homes in time for VE Day on 8th of May 2020

Please email your clips to media@www.rchcarehomes.co.uk by the 3rd of May.

When you send us your clips, please state which verse you are singing in your subject header (we’ve put numbers on the sheet to make things easy to understand. You can let us know which number you’re doing)

Good luck and we look forward to your entries!

*By sending in your clip, you give us permission to use it for marketing purposes and for public viewing on social media, as well as on our websites.
