Purple, green and white are the colours of International Women’s Day. The colours originated from the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) in the UK in 1908. Purple signifies justice and dignity. Green symbolises hope. White represents purity.
The team at our Withens Nursing Home wanted to showcase the three colours above by interviewing three of their team members sporting the colours with their uniforms on #InternationalWomensDay today!
Purple- Signifies Justice and Dignity
Margaret joined the team back in 2021. Margaret studied for a postgraduate degree in Clinical & Health Psychology graduating in 2015. After having a family Margaret joined the team and has proved to be a huge asset to the home. Margaret says: “My background in Psychology has helped me keep abreast with mental health issues and working here at the home has given me a better understanding of the support we give to our residents and the person-centred care we provide”
Green- Symbolises Hope
White- Represents Purity
Kam has worked at Withens for over 10 years, starting out as a kitchen assistant before working up to Head chef. Kam’s has a passion for cooking and loves baking cakes and biscuits (we can confirm that Kam makes the best Victoria sponge!) Kam’s says: “I love the variety of being chef such as managing and ordering supplies, having the opportunity to talk about their dietary needs and requirements. I love being a member of team Withens!”
