Manton Heights Care Centre Launches Dementia Café 24th November

On the 24th of November Manton Heights Care Centre in Bedford are celebrating the opening of their new monthly Dementia Café. The inaugural event will be hosted by General Manager Rachel Smith and the home’s Customer Relations Manager Lisa Dye. During the event those attending will be able to speak with Tim Forester-Morgan, Dementia Specialist and Expert and Manton Heights very own Dementia Ambassador.

The aim is that the café will become a hub for families, loved ones and the local community, with people coming together to share and support one another in a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. The monthly service is open to anyone living with or supporting a loved one with a Dementia who can come along, enjoy a friendly chat over a cup of coffee or tea in one of the homes social lounges.

General Manager Rachel Smith said, ‘We are truly excited for the launch of our Dementia Café, which will be a monthly event. Each month we will try and have a guest speaker as well as our Dementia Ambassador; who will be there to support and answer questions.’

The team at the Care Home in Bedford are dedicated to supporting their local community, especially those living with or supporting a loved one with a Dementia. Regular events such as the Dementia Café help to create opportunities which enable the experienced and professional team at the home to offer advice and guidance in a supportive and relaxed environment; and above all else they are here to listen.
