Held for the first time virtually in the wake of the current Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s awards were still a wonderful evening celebrating the very best of Essex.
The evening commenced with an opening speech from Pride of Essex Chairman Dave Dennison BEM, DL. Followed by the evening’s presenters Deputy Lieutenant Stuart Rawlins and Suzanne David announcing for each category the 4 highly commended nominees before finally revealing the overall winner selected by this year’s judges.
The team at Brentwood were excited by the recognition, especially as it recognised their involvement in the local area. “We believe that the whole of the Brentwood Care Centre Family, our residents and our team, are really honoured by this deserving recognition for our ongoing commitment to reach out, support and care for those in need within the local community. It’s amazing to be part of such a wonderful team, the special thing for me is that we all have the same goal in enriching the residents lives and keeping engaged with our local community’ -Sommer Turner- Client Relations Manager
As the home’s manger Torie Pollard was elated and delighted that the residents, the home and team was recognised by the judges from the Pride of Essex, ‘It has been absolutely amazing to receive recognition in two categories in the Pride of Essex Awards. Being Highly commended in the Top Team award means so much and I am honoured to lead such amazing people in their dedication and commitment to each other and to all those we care for. To also be recognised as a Hero of The Pandemic Essex is truly humbling, we have received such great support, to be able to help our community in these difficult times was something our team have been committed to doing.’
