Award-Winning Care You Can Trust

Lifestyle & Events
At Orchard House, activities are shaped around each resident’s life history, interests, abilities and personal choices. Our aim is not simply to provide a timetable of activities, but to create meaningful opportunities that support identity, independence, connection and enjoyment.
Our nationally award winning recognised Lifestyle Team works closely with residents, relatives and care colleagues to understand what is important to each person. This allows us to offer a varied programme that includes both group activities and personalised one-to-one engagement for residents who prefer quieter experiences or require additional support.
Activities may include:
– Arts, crafts, cooking and gardening
– Music, singing, dancing and live entertainment
– Gentle exercise and movement sessions
– Reminiscence and sensory experiences
– Animal visits and pet therapy
– Games, quizzes and themed celebrations
– Religious services and opportunities for reflection
– Intergenerational projects with local schools and nurseries
– Community cafés, information mornings and seasonal events
– Trips to local attractions, the seaside, cafés and places of personal interest
Our regular use of a minibus helps residents remain connected to the wider Wisbech community and continue visiting places that are familiar or meaningful to them.
Families and friends are warmly encouraged to participate in events, outings and everyday life at Orchard House. We also maintain strong partnerships with local charities, businesses, schools and community organisations, helping residents remain active and valued members of the community around them.

Dementia-friendly activities
For residents living with dementia, activities are adapted to provide appropriate choice, reassurance and a sense of purpose. Our award-winning Dementia Ambassador, Honey Berry, works alongside the Lifestyle and Care Teams to support meaningful engagement informed by residents’ personal histories. Montessori-inspired environmental approaches and Namaste principles are incorporated where appropriate to promote comfort, inclusion and wellbeing.
No two residents—and no two days—are the same. Our programme remains flexible so that residents can choose how they spend their time, whether that means joining a group activity, going on an outing, continuing a lifelong interest or enjoying a quiet conversation with someone they know.

Food & nutrition
We are proud of the high quality of our meals here at Orchard House which are carefully designed to be enjoyable whilst providing balanced nutrition to our residents.
They are lovingly cooked and prepared by our in-house catering team and follow the seasons.
Regularly rotating menus ensure we always have meals which cater to our residents’ likes and dislikes, including those who require modified or specialist diets.
To create a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for our residents to enjoy their mealtimes, our tables are lovingly laid with crisp table linen, menus clearly showing what’s on offer and cutlery and dinnerware which supports their independence.

Meet the Manager
Sarah Watson – Orchard House Care Home General Manager
I have worked within the care industry for over 20 years. I joined RCH Care Homes in 2011 as a care assistant and this is where my journey began. I worked through various different positions to progress through to where I am now as General Manager. This was many years of training and studying in which RCH supported me throughout my career changes.
Reviews & Ratings
Don't just take our word for it
Orchard House is a very pleasant care home, always clean and fresh. The staff are amazing and my stepdad is very well looked after. The food given looks good and well presented. I have had no problems at all. Any concerns are dealt with immediately if we have any.
