Romford Care Home, we’re delighted to be declared shared winners of the 2020 Pride of Essex H.O.P.E award.

Held for the first time, virtually in the wake of the current Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s awards were still a wonderful evening celebrating the very best of Essex.

The evening commenced with an opening speech from Pride of Essex Chairman Dave Dennison BEM, DL. Followed by the evening’s presenters Deputy Lieutenant Stuart Rawlins and Suzanne David announcing for each category the 4 highly commended nominees before finally revealing the overall winner selected by this year’s judges.

A new category for this year was the H.O.P.E Award (Heroes of Pandemic Essex), which recognised the contributions of organisations, companies and individuals in the area during the Covid-19 pandemic. Romford were overwhelmed to be announced as shared winners of this new award, especially in light of the how the pandemic has impacted social care over the last year.

Everyone at the family orientated and team spirted Nursing Dementia, Dementia and Residential Home was celebrating the recognition awarded to them by the Pride of Essex judges.

“I’m really proud of what the team have achieved within the current pandemic. It’s great to see that everyone has pulled together to support not only the residents and their families but even each other. It feels like we have all become a much closer knitted group and we have all got to know each other much better as we seem to have made more time to understand what we are all going through both in our working life and home life. To win the Pride of Essex Award means everything we do and care about makes a difference.” Tracy – Client Relations Manager

The residents were especially touched by the honour, this was reflected by James a resident at the home, “I’m happy I live in one of the best homes in Essex and they all do a really good job at looking after us and keeping us safe.”

General Manager Arnold Pariag was keen for the home to get involved in this year’s awards in what has been a challenging time for care homes and those who live and work within them, “Being part of the Pride of Essex Awards for 2020 was something that everyone was really excited about. It’s really jubilant and touching that we have been awarded for the hard work and dedication of the entire team”
