RCH Response to Manton CQC Report

RCH is deeply saddened to learn that the outcome of our latest CQC inspection at Manton Heights Care Centre has been rated as Requires Improvement. This is the first time this service has dropped below a Good, and we will now ensure that all teams are working to get our service back to being rated at least Good by CQC.

I would also like to take this opportunity to inform you that I have since instigated an action plan to address the areas of concern raised at Manton Heights and I am wholeheartedly confident that our team will deliver the desired results very soon, above and beyond the highest standards set by RCH, and CQC.

The inspection report indicated many positives too that should not go unnoticed;

  • The report states that service was clean and well maintained,
  • The feedback received from people about the food was positive,
  • People were also supported to maintain contact with friends, and relatives that were spoken with told the inspector they felt welcomed and involved in their relative’s care.
  • The visitors that the inspector met on the day appeared “comfortable and relaxed when speaking with staff”
  • The inspector also noted that the people spoken to had said “they were supported to make decisions about their care, such as whether or not they wanted a shower, what they wanted to drink, and what time they wished to go to bed”.

The outcome of this inspection regretfully hurts me personally, but I would like to assure you of the many good practices and care of the home, and thus our rating, in our opinion, is not a true representation of the position of Manton Heights. In the spirit of being Respectful, Caring and Honest, the key values that define RCH, I trust that you appreciate our transparency and my personal assurances that the team are working on making the required improvements that have been identified.

Your understanding is always appreciated and I look forward to welcoming you to our home.
