“Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast” ~ Alice in Wonderland

Orchard House Care Home was delighted to join in with Dementia UK’s celebrations for the 10th anniversary of their annual fundraising campaign Time for a Cuppa, an annual tea party which helps fund dementia nurses who provide specialist support to families affected by dementia.

Friday 8th March 2019 saw our care home which provides both residential dementia and nursing dementia care host a Mad Hatter Tea Party for residents and guests alike. With an array of beautifully decorated cakes and drinks available, there was no fear of anyone going hungry during our party; nor was there was any fear of not noticing the partygoers as both our team and our residents fully got into the spirit of the day by dressing up in outfits that even the Mad Hatter would have been proud of.

Of course, no party is complete without a spot of karaoke and dancing and, when our residents weren’t busy enjoying a natter, they happily showed off their best moves and voices throughout the day.

“Orchard House residents and staff both love dressing up, having a dance and a sing along. Our Mad Hatters Tea Party was a huge success and we’re proud to support such a worthwhile cause – Admiral Nurses are a huge source of support to so many people.

Our residents had a great laugh seeing our crazy outfits and enjoying the silly games during the day – the only thing they enjoyed more was all of the fabulous cakes! The Mad Hatter would have loved how everybody got into the spirit of things and how wonderfully bonkers the day was!” ~ Maxine Bain, Home Manager of Orchard House Care Home
