On Saturday 28th July, the team at Romford Nursing Care Centre were pleased to join the local community in supporting Romford Pride – the first event of its kind to take place in Romford.

The event, which kicked off at 10.30am, aimed to create a platform for the LGBT+ community in Romford and its surrounding areas, and to provide a voice for an often “unheard” community. Our team from our residential and nursing home in Neave Crescent were delighted to take part, joining a number of other local groups, charities and other organisations in showing their support.
At midday, the Pride Parade – the highlight of the event – took to the streets with crowds watching on and waving their rainbow flags in support; winding its way from Romford Train Station and around the local streets, before finishing off back in South Street. We’re pleased to say that Romford Nursing Care Centre’s large rainbow banner was not easily missed during the day’s entirety!
Celia Hardill, Regional Operations Manager, commented “We were delighted to take part in this event – it is really important to us that each and every member of the local older community feels welcome at our home. We care for a number of older people, and ensuring that each of our residents enjoys a happy, fulfilled life with us, as their true self, is central to all that we do.”
Romford Nursing Care Centre was joined by a number of other local organisations including Romford Town Police, Havering Museum, the Samaritans, Queens Theatre and Havering Youth, as well as the Mayor of Havering, Councillor Dilip Patel, pictured with the Romford team.
