Cupcakes Galore at Brentwood Care Centre!
June 14th, 2018
On Thursday 14th June the team at Brentwood Care Centre held an all-day event to raise funds for Cupcake Day – an annual event led by the Alzheimer’s Society.
The event is a day when people across the nation unite to fight dementia with the most mighty of weapons: the wooden spoon. It is a fantastic opportunity to do something fun, creative and very tasty in support of the Alzheimer’s Society – the UK’s leading dementia charity which works to create lasting change for people affected by dementia.
The team at the residential and nursing home in Larchwood Gardens decorated the home’s reception from top to bottom especially for the day. Thanks to so many kind donations from the care team, family, and friends, there was an abundance of cupcakes and other sweet treats on display on the day which were soon snapped up, all for a great cause.
In 2017, Cupcake Day raised over one million pounds for people affected by dementia, and Brentwood Care Centre were delighted to be able to contribute towards this year’s total.
Home Manager Sharon Osborne said “It was wonderful to be part of this fantastic annual event. We care for a number of older people living with dementia and so it is a cause very close to our hearts. We are delighted to have been able to support this, but we couldn’t have done it without the kind donations from our wonderful team, family and friends.”
