Manton Heights Care Centre Celebrates It’s Care Team for Carers Week

Carers Week is dedicated to highlighting the immense impact carers have on society and their unwavering commitment and support to those who depend on them. It is a fantastic opportunity to acknowledge the remarkable work of those who dedicate their lives to caring for others.

This year’s theme focuses on putting carers on the map, and our homes have truly embraced this initiative, not just during Carers Week but throughout the entire year.

Manton Heights Care Centre is one of those homes committed to its community, ensuring that everyone feels welcomed and supported. Events such as Dementia Cafés and Coffee Mornings offer carers the chance to be part of something special and meaningful. These gatherings provide companionship, valuable insights, and opportunities to speak with experts who can offer essential resources and information. These activities benefit not only carers in the community but also those within the home. Educational programmes like Dementia bus tours and D.O.V.E.S training provide our carers with growth opportunities, helping them develop both personally and professionally.

The Care Team at the Residential Dementia home are exceptional and dedicated to ensuring residents receive the best quality of life. They are kind, compassionate, and selfless, always putting residents at the forefront of everything they do. This Carers Week, as a way of saying thank you for their hard work, they were treated to a spa day in the care centre’s lovely Namaste room. They enjoyed hand and foot massages throughout the day, with tranquil music setting the perfect ambience. Following the pampering session, they were treated to delicious pizza and beverages.

Sian, the Lifestyle Lead at Manton Heights, shared that the carers appreciated the day, saying it was just what they needed. “The Carers said how grateful they were and how appreciated they felt to have something given back to them. Some also said how they felt the treatments received were just what they needed to get them through their long shift! The Lifestyle Team providing the treatments were nervous before the day started but by the end of it wanted to plan the next one as they felt good for giving the Carers back something for all the hard work they put in every day”.
