Maidstone Care Centre represented RCH Care Homes at the Great British Care Awards National Finals as the winners of the South East Care Home Cook/Chef Award.

For the first time ever, RCH Care Homes was really proud and honoured to have a finalist at the national finals.

The Gala evening held on the 25th of September at the Birmingham ICC, was attended by over 900 guests and was the perfect opportunity to celebrate the very best of the social care sector and recognise what the industry has been through over the last 19 months.

A glittering event, the night was hosted by Stevie Walls and special guest, TV and Radio presenter Mark Wright, where there were moments of laughter and fun, but also emotional and inspiring moments to recognise the strength and dedication shown by everyone in social care throughout the Covid Pandemic. In an emotional speech Mark announced to the finalists, “You are nothing less than heroes!”

Maidstone Care Centre’s Head Cook, Pat Radford, Irene Arthur and Savannah Maloney, looked amazing as they celebrated their regional win and being national finalists.

They were supported by the home’s General Manager Jacqui Gregg, who was very proud that they were the first ever GBCA Regional winners and National Finalists, ‘I’m very proud of the Maidstone catering team for coming as far as the national awards. Well, done’.
