Maidstone Care Centre
A warm, relaxed welcome awaits you at Maidstone Care Centre where we provide general nursing, palliative care and dementia care within our modern, purpose-built home. We’ve worked hard to create a homely and relaxing environment where residents can chat with one another or socialise with friends and relatives. Our lovely sundeck leads to attractive gardens and a patio area providing a delightful outside space for residents to enjoy fresh air and tranquillity.
With magnificent views over Maidstone and the surrounding Kent countryside, we are conveniently located just a few minutes from the M20 motorway. We have ample parking on site and the home is easy to reach by public transport, with a bus stop at the end of the driveway. It’s a peaceful location although there is a school playground adjacent to our premises, providing the lively sound of children playing in their break times.
All entrances to the home are flush-floored making it easy for clients and visitors to get in and out of the building. In addition all doors are wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs.
There is a lift to all the floors inside the building as well as an external lift which gives easy access to the gardens.
We have 57 comfortable and attractive en-suite rooms, each with its own heating control so that residents can keep their room at the temperature they prefer. All rooms have a call bell so that residents can call for assistance whenever they need. Some of the rooms have facilities for private telephones.
Alternatively, clients can bring their own mobile phones. Internet access can also be arranged and clients are welcome to bring a TV for their own room if they wish.
We work hard to ensure that everyone’s nutritional needs, personal tastes and cultural or religious preferences are catered for at meal times. Our chefs offer a selection of delicious dishes and have a good relationship with the local NHS dietician who offers guidance and support to ensure all clients receive a nutritionally balanced diet.At meal times, our clients are given plenty of choice about what they would like to eat and can choose whether to eat in the dining room or in their own room. Assistance is given to any residents who require help at meal times.
There are plenty of opportunities for our residents to spend time with one another. Many of our clients are very sociable and enjoy chatting, listening to music or playing bingo together. Of course, if residents prefer just to enjoy their own company, there are plenty of quiet spots to sit and relax. We provide a regular events calendar which includes exercise and dance therapy and we can also arrange trips outside the home.Bookworms are well catered for with an extensive range of books available. We also have membership with the local public library, and can provide a variety of books and talking books. For residents with religious beliefs, we are keen to support them in continuing to practise their faith within the home and are happy to discuss this prior to admission.
At Maidstone Care Centre we provide a high level of care to those who require general nursing, palliative, or residential dementia care. Wherever possible, we encourage clients to make choices regarding their day-to-day care such as when to go to bed or what to wear. We feel that providing these choices helps people feel in control of their own lives. When possible we do try to retain the client’s original GP but when this is not an option, we have good relationships with the GP surgeries in the area. Our staff receive regular training and many hold NVQ qualifications.
