We have a residents’ committee which meets once every other month. We regularly arrange outings to the cinema, pubs and seaside resorts and entertainers visit the home each month. We hold a music morning twice a week, giving residents the opportunity to enjoy light exercise, and residents are encouraged to assist staff with small tasks such as preparing the dining room for meal times, helping them to keep active and provide the opportunity to chat with staff.
A mobile library visits each month and newspapers are delivered to the home daily. If residents wish to attend religious services outside the home we will help them to do so. We also have a priest who visits regularly to worship with the residents and give them communion.
We believe it is important for our residents to enjoy meal times and we offer plenty of choice, to suit different tastes and cultural backgrounds. Menus are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure that meals are tasty and nutritious. Residents are free to choose where they would like to eat, either in the dining room or in their own room.
We pride ourselves on providing a high level of care within the home and residents are able to access other health services on a regular basis. Residents can choose to remain with their own GP or register with the home’s resident GP.
